Chris Loos

Chris Loos serves as Editor in Chief of NJBallot.com, where he directs coverage of New Jersey state government, municipal politics, and economic development. Born and raised in Sussex County, Chris studied History before turning his attention to the intersection of policy, business, and local governance in the Garden State. One of his graduate school professors called him a "killer grammarian," which he thinks was a compliment. Based in the Trenton area, Chris maintains particular expertise in New Jersey’s hyperlocal political cultures, from Sussex County farmland preservation debates to Camden County redevelopment authorities. A student of state history, he enjoys learning about New Jersey’s Progressive Era municipal reforms and "boroughitis," as well as the state's rich history of labor activism. He insists that the correct term is “Taylor ham.” Chris lives in Mercer County with his family.
