2026 General Election logistics and deadlines

These dates apply to New Jersey's November 3, 2026 General Election. Special, municipal, school, and other elections may use different dates. Recheck the official election timelines before acting.

Do not return a vote-by-mail ballot to an early-voting or Election Day polling location.

Election Day checklist

Check your registration status. If anything looks incorrect, contact your county registration official before Election Day.
Recheck your assigned polling place. The state notes that polling-location information is supplied by counties and may be updated.
Confirm the hours for your election. The hours above are for the November 3, 2026 General Election; local or special election hours can differ.
Keep official contact information available. For voting help, call 1-877-NJ-VOTER (1-877-658-6837). TTY/TDD users may call 609-292-0034.
If you are in line when polls close, stay in line and ask a poll worker for official instructions.

Accessibility and voting assistance

Review the state's voter-rights and accessibility information. For site-specific questions or accommodations, contact your county Board of Elections before Election Day when possible.

If severe weather, a public-safety incident, a building closure, or a transportation problem affects your trip:

Recheck the official polling-place page.
Confirm any closure or relocation with your county election office or call 1-877-NJ-VOTER.
