Complete the juror qualification questionnaire before requesting a new date or an excuse. NJ Courts provides an online portal and a mailed-questionnaire route for these requests. A postponement moves your service; an excuse requires an applicable reason and may need supporting documents. The court’s guidance lists circumstances such as age, recent service in the same county, medical inability or severe hardship. Explain your situation accurately and submit the requested documentation. A request does not itself release you from service: check for the court’s response and follow your summons or county jury office’s instructions.

What to do next

Use the official rescheduling or excusal instructions and the juror portal linked by NJ Courts; contact your county jury office if the request is unresolved.
