Background

Vincent Joseph Polistina represents New Jersey's 2nd Legislative District in the State Senate, encompassing Atlantic County communities including Atlantic City, Brigantine, Egg Harbor Township, Galloway, Hamilton, Linwood, Longport, Margate, Northfield, Pleasantville, Port Republic, Somers Point, Absecon and Ventnor. First elected to the Senate in 2021 and sworn in on November 8, 2021, Polistina currently serves as Deputy Republican Conference Leader.

Polistina previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2008 to 2012, where he held the position of Deputy Republican Leader and sponsored legislation establishing Atlantic City's Tourism District. After losing a bid for the State Senate in 2011 to incumbent Jim Whelan in the state's most expensive legislative race ($3 million+ in combined spending), Polistina returned to his engineering practice before being selected in August 2021 to fill the vacancy created by Chris Brown's resignation.

A lifelong Atlantic County resident who grew up in Galloway Township, Polistina is a professional engineer specializing in water and wastewater systems design and construction management. He founded Polistina and Associates, L.L.C. in 2003, an Egg Harbor Township-based engineering firm that employs more than a dozen local residents and provides municipal engineering services to communities throughout Atlantic County.
