Overview

Tom Kean Jr. represents New Jersey's 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House. He began congressional service on January 3, 2023, after serving in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2001 to 2003 and the state Senate from 2003 to 2022. He was Senate Republican leader from 2008 to 2022.

Kean earned an undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College and a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. His earlier work included the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the office of U.S. Rep. Bob Franks.
