Former Governor of New Jersey
Chris Christie is an American politician, attorney, and
former federal prosecutor who served as the 55th Governor of New Jersey from
2010 to 2018. A member of the Republican Party, Christie previously served as
the United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey from 2002 to 2008.
During his tenure as U.S. Attorney, Christie gained national
attention for prosecuting public corruption cases involving political officials
from both major parties in New Jersey.
Christie was elected governor in 2009 and re-elected in
2013. As governor, he focused on fiscal policy, public pension reform,
infrastructure funding, and disaster recovery efforts following Hurricane Sandy
in 2012.
Christie later became a national political figure within the
Republican Party, running for President of the United States in 2016 and again
in 2024.
