New Jersey General Assembly, 27th Legislative District
Alixon Collazos-Gill is a Colombian-American legislator representing the 27th Legislative District, which covers parts of Essex and Passaic Counties, including Clifton, West Orange, and Montclair. She immigrated to the United States at age 14 and settled in New Jersey, where she built a career in public affairs and government relations before entering elected office.
Collazos-Gill worked for New Jersey Network public television and served in the office of Congressman Steve Rothman for seven years, eventually becoming director of constituent services. She later served as co-director of Latino Outreach for Phil Murphy's 2017 gubernatorial campaign. She and her husband established a government affairs consulting firm where she specializes in cannabis policy and regulatory issues. She was elected to the Assembly in 2023 as part of a new progressive wave in Essex County.
