Return your ballot by mail, in your county’s secure drop box, or to its Board of Elections. For the November 3, 2026 election, drop-box and in-person delivery close at 8 p.m. that day. Mail early: the usual rule is an Election Day postmark and receipt by November 9. An otherwise-valid ballot without a postmark can also count if USPS delivers it before or within 48 hours after polls close. Sign the certificate and follow the envelope instructions. Mail-in ballots cannot be returned at polling places. Check the official instructions and contact your county if unsure.
