How do I file a New Jersey wage complaint about unpaid pay?

Practical guidance, useful next steps and official sources for New Jersey residents.

NJBallot Resident Resources

You can report suspected unpaid or underpaid wages to the New Jersey Department of Labor's Division of Wage and Hour Compliance. The state recommends its online complaint portal and also provides paper forms for mailing or faxing. Explain the problem accurately and include useful records you have, such as paystubs, hours worked, payment records and calculations of missing wages. You do not need every example of evidence listed to submit a complaint.

What to do next

Open NJDOL's wage-complaint page and follow its online portal or unpaid-wage paper-form link.
