New Jersey General Assembly, 3rd Legislative District
David Lee Bailey Jr. is a Democratic member of the New Jersey General Assembly, representing the 3rd Legislative District since January 9, 2024; the 3rd District spans municipalities in Camden, Gloucester, and Salem Counties, including Deerfield Township, Millville, Glassboro Borough, Swedesboro Borough, Alloway Township, Salem City, and Woodstown Borough. Born in 1967 he was raised in Alloway Township, New Jersey. Bailey is a lifelong resident of Salem County and currently resides in Woodstown. He earned a bachelor's degree in administration of justice from Pennsylvania State University and a master's degree in non-profit management from Eastern University. For more than 18 years, Bailey has served as Chief Executive Officer of Ranch Hope, Inc., a faith-based nonprofit organization founded by his father that provides behavioral health care, education, short-term shelter care, supportive housing, and adventure-based services to thousands of children and families annually.
Prior to his legislative service, he was active in numerous civic organizations, serving as Chair of the Government Relations Committee of the New Jersey Alliance for Children, Youth and Families since 2013, Chair of the Salem County Chamber of Commerce (2014–2015), and on the boards of the Salem Community College Foundation and the Non Profit Development Council of Southern New Jersey. He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Woodstown since 2004, serving as President from 2005 to 2007, and has volunteered with Meals on Wheels since 2018.
