Background

Cody D. Miller is a Democratic member of the New Jersey General Assembly, representing the 4th Legislative District since January 9, 2024; the district includes parts of Camden, Atlantic, and Gloucester Counties. At age 32 when first elected, he became the youngest member of the Assembly and the first New Jersey legislator born in the 1990s.

A lifelong resident of Monroe Township, Gloucester County, Miller graduated from Gloucester County College (now Rowan University) with an associate degree in history and political science in 2011, earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Rutgers University–Camden in 2013, and completed a Master of Public Administration at Rutgers–Camden in 2016. He began his public service career in January 2019 when he was selected to fill a vacancy on the Monroe Township Council for Ward 2, later serving as an at-large councilman. He subsequently served on the Monroe Township Board of Education from 2021 to 2023, including a term as Board President in 2022. Professionally, Miller is the Director of Foundation and Alumni Relations at Rowan College of South Jersey. He ran for the Assembly in 2023 alongside Dan Hutchison and won election in a competitive race, subsequently winning re-election to a second term in November 2025.
